Tim Van Zandt is Pluris’ game theory expert and Professor of Economics and Dean of Faculty and Research at INSEAD. At INSEAD, he teaches and does research on managerial economics and game theory, and he has developed a textbook and web-based platform for imperfect competition games. At Pluris, he provides economic and game theory advice to clients in the private and public sectors, focusing on auctions, tenders and other structured negotiation processes.
In a recent Pluris project, Tim advised an international oil company in their bidding strategy during ten rounds of a public tender organized by a European Government. As a result, the client ensured a profitable business for the next five years.
Tim received his PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining INSEAD, he was assistant professor at Princeton University. Since then, he has also had one-year visiting positions at Northwestern University, New York University and Columbia University.
